BATTLEFIELD 1: IN THE NAME OF THE TSAR (EA Dice/Electronic Arts – PS4, Xbox One, PC – Summer 2017) – “In the Name of the Tsar” is the second expansion following “They Shall Not Pass” from March, which added the French Army into the mix, along with maps from Forte de Vaux, Soissons, Verdun Heights, and Rapture to GHG’s 2016 Game of The Year Winner Battlefield 1. This next DLC will be fully unveiled at EA Play 2017 on the Saturday before E3, June 10, but we do know a few details that have been revealed already.
First, as the name suggests this expansion is all about adding the fearsome Russian army into the game. “In the Name of the Tsar” adds four new maps along the Eastern front of the war with Russian vehicles, weapons, and soldiers, including the first female multiplayer soldier! Yes — Wonder Woman inspires us all. And as an avid Battlefield fan, I can’t wait for the rest of the details and ultimately to add these new wrinkles into the game.
EA Play takes place at The Hollywood Paladium from June 10-12, and will be showing live on EA.com.
