CALL OF DUTY: BLACK OPS IIII (Treyarch/Activision – PC/PS4/Xbox One – October 12, 2018) – Hello faithful congregation, let’s jump in to that old pool cannonball style with the latest news coming out of California on every ones favorite franchise, Call of Duty. So, Black Ops IIII (because the number 4 is too clichéd, or the I’s represent clips) or Call of Duty IIII: Blackout which comes out on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.

Activision announced that their latest voyage into battle will not include a campaign mode. Instead, there will be a “battle royale” that combines the last 10-years of black ops, characters, weapons, and land/sea/air vehicles all in one giant mound of destruction.
Blackout will be a “Fortnite-style” battle. While this might sound awesome to those Monster Energy-slurping, Taco flavored Dorito chopping cyberthugs in their mom’s basement, it’s not at all awesome to the portion–however small–of the Call of Duders who don’t (always) like to play online. The multiplayer will also include the standard Zombies mode.
While the trailer looks good, hell, insanely good, you can’t gauge a game by a 3-minute vid. It’s a trailer and it’s meant to look amazing. Today, CoDBO4‘s gameplay revealed that there are health bars and health regeneration won’t be automatic; instead, you’ll have to heal yourself ala Call of Duty: WWII, or you will need to find Crash, who is a medic.
According to Activision, this is not a break of from the series, but instead a slight deviation following last year’s Call of Duty. To make up for the missing campaign, there will be three different zombies experiences — and this is where your Cardinal might be propelled to buy the game: we get transported to ancient Rome and to the Titanic. Um, eff yeah!
As always, we will have to see how the actual gameplay is once more people get their hands it at E3.
