Pimpin’ From The Pulpit w/ The Preacher Man! [Evening Weekend Mass]: Grandiose Genuflections of a Glorified God Hated Geek

  • Talk then turned to the character of the cosmic villain Thanos and the possibility that he’ll have more of a physical presence in the August 1st debuting Guardians Of The Galaxy movie, upon which Feige confirmed, “There is an actor. I’m not sure we want to announce it yet.” “There is an actor!” Thinking perhaps we may get that actor announcement at this summer’s San Diego Comic-Con, at the end of July, just before Guardians hits the big-screens everywhere?!? We’ll just have to wait and see, on that one. Feige then added about Guardians Of The Galaxy’s place in the Marvel cinematic universe, “Guardians will feel and seem the most separate. But in a summer where people are going to see a lot of sequels, some of which are ours, and a lot of reboots and familiar faces, we were excited about the idea of bringing something new and totally unexpected to the screen.”
"WHAT A BUNCH OF A-HOLES!!!"
“WHAT A BUNCH OF A-HOLES!!!”
  • Finally, Feige talked a bit about how fans seem to be feeling a great sense of confidence in Marvel Studios sticking to their guns and maintaining their May 6th, 2016 release date for Captain America 3, which is currently set to go head-to-head with Warner Bros./DC Ent.’s Batman Vs. Superman, “Well, I’m glad people think that way. We had the flag there first. What other people do and where has always been less of our concern. It’s about keeping our head down and doing what we would believe would be cool for an audience to see. I wouldn’t say that necessarily.” LORD! That Feige sure can chat-up a storm about the Marvel Studios fare, can’t he?!? Hey! It’s all good! Somebody has to and it seems that everyone in the fan community is LOVIN’ IT like a McDonalds jingle set to full-on PIMP!
  • NOT to be outdone by Feige, Avengers: Age Of Ultron director, Joss Whedon had this to say about adding new characters to film sequels, “I fiercely dislike the idea of just throwing in more people for the sake of doing that. But last time I had all of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes versus one British character actor, and I needed more conflict. I’m having a blast with Ultron. He’s not a creature of logic – he’s a robot who’s genuinely disturbed. We’re finding out what makes him menacing and at the same time endearing and funny and strange and unexpected, and everything a robot never is.” Hmmmmm…COULD the beginning of that comment from Whedon be a sort of pointed jab at another upcoming big-screen teaming from their Distinguished Competition?!!!?

*By the way, Avengers: Age Of Ultron co-star, Mark Ruffalo (Bruce Banner/The Hulk) shared a couple of pics via his Twitter feed. One a shot of he and fellow science bro, Robert Downey Jr. (Tony Stark/Iron Man) and another of what looks to be Scarlett Johansson ready to give a good ol’ fashioned boxing ring BEATDOWN!
