Rick and Morty season 2 finale aired on October 4, 2015 and for a year half there was no mention of an impending season 3. Rumors circulated that it was the series finale, that creators Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland couldn’t decide where to take the series. Then April 1st came around and unannounced to anyone “The Rickshank Rickdemption” premiered and in the closing moments of the episode Rick says “welcome to the darkest year of our adventures,” and now we come to follow Rick and Morty into their adventures and the quest for the Szechuan sauce!

It’s all about the Szechuan Mulan sauce!

“Rickmancing the Stone”, begins with Rick, Morty and Summer fresh off their latest adventure teleporting to the garage where Jerry is moving out of the house and waiting to say his goodbyes. As in the last episode Jerry put his foot down with Beth and, par for the course, things didn’t end well for Jerry. The kids unable to deal with their parents divorce gladly teleport to whatever other hellhole awaits them. They wind up being chased by cannibalistic road warriors on a post-apocalyptic Mad-Max world. The trio begins taking out their emotional baggage on the poor cannibalistic denizens; Summer joins the ranks of the Death Stalkers, Morty gets an enhanced arm to fight in the Thunder—I mean Blood Dome, and Rick tries to figure out how to rob them of a sacred stone.

The second episode of Rick and Morty doesn’t let up on the blood, vulgarity, and dark humor that the series is known for and if it’s any indication in what direction this season will go it’s bound to be fun. So strap in and get ready for the ride because we have six more seasons until we get that sweet, delicious Szechuan sauce!! 4/5 Pickle Ricks.
