STRANGER THINGS (Saturday – Hall H) – After coming off of an incredible season — with this their first time in Hall H — Stranger Things took over the stage to huge applause! It’s never easy to follow Warner Bros. or even Charlize Theron, but things hosted by nerd comedy god Patton Oswald (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) sure did with laughs and claps. The panel was filled with almost the whole cast and also with brand new characters for season two, on stage were; The Duffer brothers, who created the show, Producer Shawn Levy, Natalia Dyer (Hannah Montana), Joe Keery (Chicago Fire), David Harbour (the new Hellboy), Mathew Modine (Full Metal Jacket), Caleb McLaughlin (Lucas Sinclair), Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin Henderson), Noah Schnapp (Will Byers), Finn Wolfhard (Mike Wheeler), Millie Bobby Brown (Eleven), and the newly cast Dacre Montgomery (Power Rangers), Sadie Sink (Blue Bloods), and Paul Reiser (Whiplash).

Whew. The panel really showed how much fun the whole cast has together, even the new add on’s. Patton also wasn’t against giving the kids a hard time, like he did with Finn Wolfhard. “Great porn name… don’t do anything called stranger phones.” Or, when Reiser came to the stage and recycled his great line from Aliens to Modine, “He’s no good!” Which was in regards to his new character and how he interacts with Mathew’s in Season 2.
Some of the best questions asked by Patton were about the children’s and Harbour’s characters. Millie went the most in-depth of the kids with the question explaining it was difficult and she had to express everything with nothing but with her face. She explained the hardest part of being in 11’s shoes, though were when her character had to cry while surrounded by immature teenage boys who are cracking jokes and pulling pranks.
David also explained the difference between how his character is from season one to two. “It was a classic heroes journey in season one. The journey was so satisfying to see him come to life by the end… But, in season two its a year later and you can’t do the same thing… Now, in S02, it is to see if they (his character) can live up to their heroic act… The pitfalls… Widely different but just as satisfying.” 4.25/5 Creepy Upside Down Bibles.
