The first teaser for the Castlevania Netflix animated series dropped today after there being much speculation as to when this highly anticipated series was going to make its debut.
Now we know: June 7th.
Writer Warren Ellis has been mentioning Castlevania for a while now in his weekly email to his fans. Having only played it a few times as a kid, the draw for me is definitely Ellis. His elegant touch is sure to elevate this series above most video game adaptations we have gotten in the past. We can’t glean much from this teaser except for the show’s anime style and a spooky castle.
The official synopsis for the series: Inspired by the classic video game series, Castlevania is a dark medieval fantasy following the last surviving member of the disgraced Belmont clan, trying to save Eastern Europe from extinction at the hand of Vlad Dracula Tepe himself.
The animated series is from Frederator Studios, a Wow! Unlimited Media company, written by best-selling author and comic book icon Warren Ellis and executive produced by Warren Ellis, Kevin Kolde, Fred Seibert and Adi Shankar.
