WWE RAW‘s latest acquisition isn’t a young hopeful from NXT or Ring of Honor, nor a washed-up superstar from TNA or Dubya See Dubya. No, marks; Monday’s are about to get blessed with an all-new Cruiserweight division.

If you haven’t been watching the Cruiserweight Classic (CWC), then, well… your ass better callllllllll someboddddddddyyyyyyyyy!!!

Here are the finale results, too, via the Ringside Apostles own “Father Grimm” Ryan Davis.

CWC Semi-Finals: Gran Metalik vs Zack Sabre Jr. – Metalik came out of the gate fast and nearly gained the pin early, but it was Sabre Junior who was a lot more aggressive than his previous CWC matches. Lest we not forget the great spot near the end of the mach where Metalik goes for a springboard splash– but ZSJ catches him in a triangle choke. Though in the end, the Technical Wizard could not overcome a surprise Metalik Driver to give Gran Metalik a spot in the finals.

CWC Semi-Finals: TJ Perkins vs Kota Ibushi – This was the most back-and-forth match that I’ve seen in this tournament (although that distinction is tremendously difficult!), with both cruiserweights landing tons of high impact moves. In particular, was the scary spot in the middle where Ibushi takes a nasty spill to the outside nearly landing on his neck. The finish came when TJ Perkins locks in his legbar on Ibushi all the while modifying the submission into a kind of STF. Forcing “The Golden Star” to submit, Perkins dabs into the finals.

**Bonus** Tag-Team Match: DIY (Gargano & Ciampa) vs Cedric Alexander & Noam Dar – With DIY finally cleared to compete after a total demolishing by The Revival weeks ago–and Alexander and Dar.. Duh-duh-Dar being eliminated from the CWC–everyone had something to prove here. They all brought “The Sauce” in this bonus match with more stiff knees and kicks than even Ibushi brought tonight. Hashtag: #StrongStyle… At the end, DIY took down the dynamic cruiserweight upstarts with their knee/super superkick combo, continuing their roll of great matches lately. The bigger question, though: which one of these guys are you going to download first from the “Creation Suite” in WWE 2K17?

WWE CWC Finals: TJ Perkins vs Gran MetalikBut first… Triple H makes a surprise entrance just before the match is about to start to announce that the winner of the match will not only win the trophy but…also the new WWE Cruiserweight Championship. Onto the match: Metalik potatoed the crap out of Perkins’ chest leaving him with a shoulder full of welts. He also really showcased why he is called “The King of the Ropes” with tons of diving, rope walking, and springboarding. Perkins, on the other hand, showed what us SoCal indy scene marks have known for years: the man is no less a world class athlete. He put on a pure wrestling clinic! Sporting the new Air Jordan XXXI “Olympic” kicks (shout-out to Moody on that #GeekSwag knowledge), TJ displayed skills from all over the board of wrestling styles. Having watched him live more times than I have seen anyone else wrestle, TJ Perkins‘ victory brought tears to this Apostle’s eyes. A new DVD wrestling classic is born.
