SOUTH PARK: THE FRACTURED BUT WHOLE (Ubisoft San Francisco – PS4, Xbox One – October 17, 2017) – “Matt and Trey, the way they work is that they’re not going to be censored. They don’t want to be censored.” That quote came out today from Ubisoft Studio Director of Design Paul Cross, regarding the censorship the publisher faces — that could have otherwise caused a possible Fractured But Whole ban in some countries — in lew of Matt Stone and Trey Parker’s creative touch. But I’m more worried about the huge predecessor it has to live up to, as SP geeks have been looking forward to the sequel since the first time Cartman’s ass got kicked in the first South Park RPG, The Stick of Truth.
Though, instead of LOTR/GoTesque fantasy characters this time, your favorite Colorado kids are taking on the role of superheroes. Expect a ton of references to our favorite episodes from the animated series. The first game was so good that the only improvement I can hope for is a longer campaign. Packed full of farts, swearing, sexual references and other forms of **CENSORED** debauchery, October can’t come soon enough. Here’s to hanging with Mr. Hanky this Halloween season!
