E3ODUS [E3 2017 Preview]: Quake Champions.

QUAKE CHAMPIONS (Bethesda Softworks – PC – Q4 2017) – It’s been 12-years since the release of Quake 4. I spent a lot of time playing Quake III arena online on the Dreamcast back in the day. [While this may sound like a review–and maybe it is but…–it’s more of a “on hands Preview”.] I got to check out the beta for Champions over the weekend, or at least a little sample of what’s to come…

The game has the feel and look of a old school FPS. While the graphics aren’t as pretty as say Overwatch or Doom 4, it sure as hell makes up with its fast paced gameplay, and very unique maps. Quake Champions features 9 playable champions, but since I just wanted to get a feel of the game I only played with the first one available from the start: Ranger. The Champions themselves have active and passive abilities to make each one feel unique, and add a little of a play curb to suit every player’s need.
